Greenbone Supplies German Federal Government with Security Technology
Vulnerability Scanner Detects Security Flaws in IT Environments and Supervises Integrity of All Installed Systems.
Osnabrück, Germany - November 9th 2011 - Greenbone Networks, experts in vulnerability assessment, today announced that the company was granted federal licensing rights. This agreement means that Greenbone's security solutions fulfill all of the necessary requirements to harden IT networks off federal offices and protect them against outside attacks. Government agencies are entitled to attractive discounts and expert training courses which are conducted by Greenbone in close collaboration with Germany's Federal Office for Information Security.
By granting Greenbone Networks licenses with federal agencies, German Federal Government acknowledges the fact that effective vulnerability scanning has become a key method of shielding IT infrastructures against hacker attacks. Greenbone solutions leverage powerful technologies to identify security-related problems in order to mitigate them instantly or take protective counter measures against them. This vulnerability assessment is not restricted to central servers only, but allows for continuous and comprehensive inspection of every single IT system. In this way, administrators are able to harden IT networks against outside attacks and close security holes.
Under the terms of the federal licensing contract, Greenbone offers attractive discounts to federal government departments, offices and institutes looking for powerful security scanners protecting their IT systems. German federal government is entitled to extra discounts for Greenbone's vulnerability scanning and management products. Here, Greenbone's activities are closely aligned with Germany's Federal Office for Information Security, thereby providing Greenbone customers with support and consulting services. This service offering is accompanied by training courses about Greenbone products which are held regularly in federal training centers.
Founded in 2008, privately owned Greenbone Networks are located in Osnabrück, Germany, and deliver an open-source-based vulnerability analysis solution protecting against network attacks, enhanced by security reporting and change management processes. "Greenbone Security Feed", the company's basic product offering, combines various methods of detecting security problems and supervises desktop PCs, servers, appliances, and intelligent components, such as router or VoIP devices. As the corporation's main product line, "Greenbone Security Manager" (GSM) is a dedicated vulnerability management appliance, seamlessly integrating with other patch and threat management systems.
