NVT Management System
The content of the Greenbone Security Feed undergoes a distinct process before it arrives at our customers' sites.
The process usually starts with security alerts. Each alert is automatically inserted into the NVT Management System, creating a ticket. The tickets are processed in systematic phases by the Greenbone Labs team:
- Screening (validity)
- Research (type, correlation, priority)
- Implementation
- Quality Assurance
- Release (into feed service)
In cases where readily implemented NVTs arrive via our technology partners or via security communities, the phases are similar, but concentrate on quality assurance.
